In this video I give my thoughts on the 2026 Winter Olympics Gold Medal Hockey game between Canada and the USA. I talk about how Canada dominated the shot clock but couldn’t beat Connor Hellebuyck, our hometown Winnipeg Jets goalie in his real job. And how a flukey first shot goal by the US team early in the first period led to a 3-on-3 sudden death overtime finish that could have gone either way. But more importantly, I address the elephant in the room: the politicization of this loss. I compare it to the 1980 “Miracle on Ice” and remind everyone that hockey is hockey. We’re seeing a lot of “Elbows Up” rhetoric and anti-American sentiment being pushed by politicians and the media.
